Sustainability

Our Coffee

All of our beans are all fully traceable back to the exact farms that they are produced, with each farm operating under a supplier code of conduct - this covers a range of conditions from human rights, respecting land rights of local communities and a number of environmental conditions - one of which stipulates that suppliers must ensure that there is no loss of forests as a result of conversion for coffee production or processing.

Our Shop

In addition to ensuring the sustainability of our coffee beans, we have also taken a number of steps to reduce the carbon footprint of our Monte Bianco shop.  We donate most of our used coffee grounds to a local community based charity who produce food on a nearby allotment.  The food grown is then sold through a community collective shop in Kingston (kingstonhive.org.uk).

Additionally in the shop we often use compostable lids for our takeaway coffee cups, we sell our own brand of reusable cups with a discount for anyone using a reusable cup, we give away all leftover pastries at the end of the day through the TooGoodToGo app.  We have also set ourself the goal for the shop to be powered only by 100% renewable energy by the end of 2025.
